Your Locally-Grown Community Grocery Store

We love food that is local, natural, and great tasting!  Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op and help us realize our vision for a more sustainable community and world. (Membership is optional.) Ypsi Food Co-op is a member-owned business, specializing in foods and products that are natural and organic for your healthy lifestyle.

YFC sells a full line of groceries, including locally-grown produce, Michigan beer & wine, Fair Trade coffee & chocolate, frozen & dairy foods, and artisan breads & pastries baked in YFC's wood-fired brick oven. The Co-op is also a place to get to know your neighbors and community, and learn more about your food. Come in and see what's delicious today!

YFC Board Election

Announcement of the results of the recent YFC Board election will be delayed two weeks due to a clerical error on one group of ballots. (Specifically, the ballots provided for in-store voting did not properly identify one candidate.) Those board directors not running for a seat decided the best way to handle the mistake is to request that those members who voted using the flawed ballots re-submit their vote. Member-owners who voted using the in-store ballot will receive a new ballot in the mail.  Please return the ballot to the co-op via mail.  All mailed ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, May 24th.

Ballots will also be available in-store starting Wednesday May 11th; ask any cashier for details.  In-store ballots must also be submitted by Tuesday, May 24th.

Those who already voted using the original mail-in ballot will not need to vote again.

We apologize for the delay.

UPDATE: Board candidate bios have been re-posted at the bottom of this page.

Proposed Boycott of
Eden Foods

The membership voted 95-68 not to stop carrying Eden Foods products at the Ypsilanti Food Co-op. Members who would like to get involved in educating the Co-op community about issues surrounding where our food comes from, how it's produced, and by whom might want to contact the Food Ethics Committee at foodethics@ypsifoodcoop.org.
