Your Locally-Grown Community Grocery Store

We love food that is local, natural, and great tasting!  Everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op and help us realize our vision for a more sustainable community and world. (Membership is optional.) Ypsi Food Co-op is a member-owned business, specializing in foods and products that are natural and organic for your healthy lifestyle.

YFC sells a full line of groceries, including locally-grown produce, Michigan beer & wine, Fair Trade coffee & chocolate, frozen & dairy foods, and artisan breads & pastries baked in YFC's wood-fired brick oven. The Co-op is also a place to get to know your neighbors and community, and learn more about your food. Come in and see what's delicious today!

ALL SHOPPERS WELCOME!!!

YFC Board Election

Welcome to our five new Board Members: Don Broersma, Susan Carter, Mike Kozura, Devin Leatherman, and Stefanie  Stauffer. All terms are 2 years except Carter’s; she will serve 1 year. The first Board meeting takes place June 28, 6:30pm, at the Ypsilanti Freighthouse. More information about our Board is available under Governance.

Those members not using the mailed ballot from the May Ypsi Mix Newsletter were asked to re-vote, due to a clerical error on ballots used for in-store and Annual Meeting voting. This caused some frustration and confusion yet, while 20 fewer members re-voted, the outcome remained identical to the first vote.

Proposed Boycott of
Eden Foods

The membership voted 95-68 not to stop carrying Eden Foods products at the Ypsilanti Food Co-op. Members who would like to get involved in educating the Co-op community about issues surrounding where our food comes from, how it's produced, and by whom might want to contact the Food Ethics Committee at foodethics@ypsifoodcoop.org.
