A cooperatively-owned business (AKA a co-op) is a business owned by its customers. Co-ops exist in nearly all business sectors: from grocery stores like us, to credit unions, to childcare co-ops, to utility co-ops, and beyond! Unlike traditional grocery stores, a co-op isn’t owned by a corporation or outside investors. Instead, it’s democratically governed by its member-owners, who have a say in how the store is run and what values it upholds.
