Special Orders

Our Special Order program serves our members and non-members by:
1. offering significant savings when they purchase in bulk quantities, and 2. making available items that we do not normally carry in the store. Despite pricing these items well below our retail prices, Special Orders provide opportunities for guaranteed sales, and often reflect a 20-30% savings for the customer.  Sale items may still be Special Ordered -- it's a great time to stock up!  There are some special conditions that apply; please see details below.

Order Minimums
In order to receive Special Order pricing, the customer must order a full case (in whatever quantity we receive it from the supplier). Cases may be split with the Co-op on occasion, but this is dependent on the store’s needs and will need to be approved by the purchaser or manager. For items sold individually (such as supplements), the minimum order is three (3) if we regularly carry it; if we do not, then the minimum is one (1).

Beer and Wine: Six (6) bottles of wine; Full case of beer
YFC Deli: Two (2) pounds for salads and dips (may vary according to batch size); Five (5) sandwiches; Two (2) gallons soup
YFC Sweets: Five (5) pounds for house-made granola;  whole pies, cakes, etc. may be ordered, but Special Order pricing will only be available for purchases or six (6) or more of any individual item
YFC Bread: Four (4) loaves or packages

If a customer wants a particular item, but doesn’t want to purchase the minimum amount, they can:
•    Put that item on the request notepad (at register) for consideration
•    Ask to be contacted if that item is ordered/made so that some
can be set aside for them.  See a coordinator or manager.

Notice and Availability
The Deli and Bakery require 48-hour notice for all Special Orders (dependent on ingredient availability).

A minimum deposit of $10.00 is required for many Special Orders and 50% on any order over $50.  Full payment may be required in advance for perishables, expensive items or items we don’t carry.

When an order is ready for pick-up, the purchasing/producing department will notify the customer by phone.  No additional member or volunteer discounts may be used on Special Orders, although manufacturer’s money-off coupons may be used. Taxable (non-food) items will be taxed.

If you have questions please ask the coordinator or manager.
